Subsec. 35(E)(6)(b) of Baytown's Unified Land Development Code lists vehicle repair shops among the home-based businesses that are flatly prohibited, alongside animal hospitals, private clubs, restaurants, stables and kennels, vehicle paint shops, and any occupation illegal under other law. Subsec. 35(E)(6)(b)(v) supplies the bright-line test that turns ordinary home car maintenance into a prohibited business: repairing, rebuilding, or reconstructing more than two vehicles per year that are not registered at the residence constitutes an automobile repair or auto body shop. Because the rule counts vehicles not registered at the residence, working on the family's own cars in a home garage does not trigger it; the prohibition targets a resident who takes in other people's vehicles for repair as a side business.
