Chino, CA Business Licensing & Operations: Auto Repair on Residential Property (2026)

Chino's residential use table allows motor vehicle repair as an accessory activity in single-family and multi-family zones, but § 20.04.030(B)(2) limits it two ways: the vehicles worked on must belong to the property owner or resident, no running a repair business on other people's cars, and all work must happen inside an enclosed structure such as a garage, not in the open driveway, yard, or street. The same subsection bans living in a parked trailer or camper in a residential district and requires garage sales to separately follow Title 5, Chapter 5.40's rules. Adopted by Ord. 2010-05, § 1(exh.
