120's Prohibited Home Occupations list draws a hard line against auto-repair-type work in a residential dwelling. The section states that the following uses and activities are prohibited as Home Occupations, including vehicle storage, cleaning, dismantling, installation, manufacture, or service, and vehicle sale, lease, rental, or dispatching including via e-commerce platforms. Because these are listed as categorically prohibited rather than merely restricted, no Zoning Clearance can issue for them regardless of scale, hours, or whether the work happens indoors: unlike the general home occupation standards that allow permitted businesses to operate inside the dwelling up to 25 percent of its floor area, vehicle repair cannot qualify as a home occupation at all.

The same list also bars several other trades from home operation, including animal hospitals, boarding or rooming houses for more than one guest, uncertified massage, medical and dental practices, and welding, and the Director retains authority to add further prohibited classifications found to change the character of the dwelling or adversely affect the surrounding residential neighborhood. Separately, the section's general standards would have already excluded most home-based auto work even without the specific prohibition: home occupations cannot be conducted in a garage or outdoors, cannot use or store hazardous or flammable materials beyond quantities customarily incidental to a dwelling, and cannot use mechanical or electrical equipment beyond what is customarily incidental to residential living, all conditions that a repair or service operation would routinely violate.
