The exclusion sits inside Section 43-8, the chapter's master list of definitions. HOME OCCUPATION is defined as an occupation carried on in a dwelling by the resident as an accessory use, subject to the ten standards of Section 43-41G, but the definition specifically excludes the operation of a beauty parlor, barbershop, automobile repair servicing or body shop, convalescent or nursing home, and roughly a dozen other listed businesses. Because automobile repair is defined out of home occupation entirely, the accessory-use path in Section 43-41G, which otherwise lets a resident run a quiet business from home without a public hearing, is not available to it.

Those Section 43-41G standards would bar the use anyway: work must stay entirely inside the dwelling with no accessory structure used, no employee besides the residents, no customers or clients visiting the premises, no outdoor storage of equipment or vehicles, and no equipment that creates noise, vibration, glare, fumes, or odors detectable at the property line, none of which a repair bay can meet. A Yonkers resident who wants to fix cars for pay must instead locate as an automobile repair shop, a listed commercial use confined to business and industrial districts and subject to its own siting rules, including a 200-foot separation from any place of worship, hospital, or school under Section 43-38B(1).
