Village Code Chapter 122 governs vehicle towing services called out by the Police Department. 04, membership in good standing with the Towing and Recovery Association of America or an equivalent, and background checks on every driver, paid for by the applicant; a felony conviction, sex-offense conviction or suspended license disqualifies an individual driver. The company must be based within the village or a bordering municipality, with any storage yard within five miles of the village boundary. 03 gives the Chief of Police 30 days to investigate and recommend approval or denial to the Village Clerk, who maintains a rotation of no fewer than two and no more than four eligible companies.
