Peoria, AZ Cannabis Regulations: Buffer Zones (2026)

Section 21-505(G)(6) of the Peoria City Code sets locational standards for Qualifying Marijuana Dispensaries and for Marijuana Manufacturing, Cultivation, or Testing Facilities, with separation distances measured in a straight line from the exterior wall of the building, suite, or premises without regard to intervening buildings or political boundaries. Under Section 21-505(G)(6)(b), a dispensary cannot locate within 2,640 feet of another Qualifying Marijuana Dispensary or a marijuana manufacturing, cultivation, or testing facility, within 1,000 feet of a day-care facility, preschool, or public, charter, or private school, within 1,000 feet of a retail liquor store, tavern, bar, lounge, adult use, substance abuse treatment center, or State Local Alcohol Reception Center, or within 500 feet of a residentially zoned property line.

, drive-through sales are prohibited, no alcohol may be sold or consumed on the premises, and product must stay behind a counter staffed by a state-registered Marijuana Dispensary or Facility Agent. Section 21-505(G)(6)(c) applies the same category of standard to standalone manufacturing, cultivation, or testing facilities, which must also sit at least 2,640 feet from another such facility, 1,000 feet from schools and day cares, and 500 feet from residentially zoned property; all cultivation, manufacturing, testing, and storage must occur inside secured, enclosed buildings. Both use types require a Police Department-approved Security Management Plan with cameras retained at least 60 days, and signage limited to the business name with no advertising of goods or services.
