Full Breakdown
Hanford Municipal Code § 17.69.030 makes a storefront retail cannabis dispensary a conditional use limited to the MX-D mixed-use downtown zone. The dispensary, and the entire parcel it sits on, must be excluded if any part of the site falls within 200 feet of property zoned RL-5, RL-8, RL-12, R-M or R-H, and it must be at least 600 feet from any school, public, private, charter, or pre-school through K-12, a state-licensed daycare serving nine or more children, or a defined youth facility such as a park with play equipment. A conditional use permit and City certification are required before opening.
Violations & Fines
Opening a storefront dispensary outside the MX-D zone or inside the residential or school buffer is grounds for permit denial; operating without the required conditional use permit and certification is a code violation subject to enforcement.
