Transient Occupancy Tax
Broomfield taxes every hotel room, motel room, apartment hotel, lodging house, or other paid lodging citywide at 1.6% under the Lodging Tax, chapter 3-38, in effect since July 1, 1997. Anyone who leases or rents lodging, including short-term rental hosts and marketplace facilitators, must collect and remit it; guests with written agreements of 30 or more consecutive days are exempt from the related sales tax under section 3-04-100(H).
