Caldwell requires bicycle riders to use a usable bicycle path whenever one has been provided next to a roadway, and caps riders to two abreast on a roadway unless they are on an exclusive path. Separately, parking a vehicle on a bike lane or bike path is its own ticketable parking violation under Caldwell City Code sections 09-17-19 and 09-07-13.

(1) A person propelling a bicycle shall not ride other than astride a permanent and regular seat attached thereto. (2) Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall not ride more than two (2) abreast except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive use of such. (3) Whenever a usable path for bicycles has been provided adjacent to a roadway, bicycle riders shall use such paths.
