Fitchburg enforces Massachusetts state pool barrier rules. Any pool that can hold over 24 inches of water must be enclosed by a barrier at least 48 inches high, with self-closing/self-latching gates, per 780 CMR Appendix G (Massachusetts Building Code) and the State Sanitary Code 105 CMR 435.
