Florissant caps backyard sheds and other accessory buildings at eighteen feet and bars them from exceeding the height of the house itself, under Zoning Code Section 405.215. A shed can fill no more than thirty percent of the required rear yard, and anything up to thirteen feet tall must sit at least three feet off the property line, with an extra foot of setback for every extra foot of height. Sheds over 144 square feet or eight feet tall also trigger design standards under Section 405.250.
