Solicitor Permits
Anyone going door-to-door or business-to-business in Georgetown to sell goods or solicit orders needs a permit from the Police Services Records Section before starting, under City Code Section 6.16.020. Applicants submit fingerprints and a criminal history check, pay a $15 or $25 fee, and receive a permit valid 90 days. Newspaper carriers, farmers, and religious or political canvassers are exempt from the permit itself.
