In the City of Lacey, Washington, holiday decorations and yard sculptures appear on the exempt list in the sign chapter of the Lacey Municipal Code. A display that is clearly incidental and customary to a national, local or religious holiday needs no sign permit, and garden sculptures that carry no advertising are exempt too. The exemption does not excuse the owner from the rest of Chapter 16.75.
