Lafayette allows an existing billboard face to convert to digital only if the owner removes at least twice as much billboard area elsewhere in the city-parish, per Sec. 89-90(i)(3)d. Converted digital faces must sit at least 300 feet from any residential district and 1,500 feet from another digital billboard, holding each message for at least eight seconds.
