Transient Occupancy Tax
Every operator of a bed and breakfast, hotel, lodginghouse or motel in the City of Medford must collect a local room occupancy excise of four percent on the total rent charged for each guest's stay. Medford adopted the tax by ordinance in 1997 under state authority letting municipalities impose a local option excise on transient lodging, stacking it on top of the state's own room occupancy tax.
