Every residential swimming pool built in Ocala since the Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act took effect October 1, 2000 must be constructed under that Act, F.S. ch. 515, or the Florida Building Code, per City Code § 82-501(a). Whichever safety features and barrier requirements applied at construction must stay in place afterward. Pools built before that date, or otherwise outside the Act, follow the separate barrier rules in Division 2.
