Vallejo Municipal Code Section 7.62.040(B) requires the owner of any vacant building to preserve its interior from water damage and keep it free of garbage, debris and infestation by rodents, insects or other pests. The rule is part of the city's Vacant Real Property ordinance, enforced by the code enforcement division with monthly inspection and posting duties and fines up to two hundred dollars a day for noncompliance.
