Everett, WA Code Violation Reporting: How to Report (2026)

Under Everett Municipal Code § 1.20.080, the code enforcement officer may act on field observations, reports, investigations, or reliable complaints from the public to determine whether a violation exists. Once cause is found, the officer can issue a corrective action notice, a voluntary compliance agreement, a notice and order, a stop work order, suspend or revoke a permit or license, impose fines, or pursue criminal enforcement. This general chapter governs complaints about nuisances, rubbish, junk vehicles, cannabis, parking, sidewalks, sewer connections, zoning under Title 19, building code violations, noise, and the Shoreline Master Program. The officer is not required to notify a complainant when no violation is found.
