Beaufort County treats swimming pools as structures subject to its adopted building codes, and its fee schedule sets a specific inspection charge for pools: $40.00 for a residential single-family pool and $60.00 for a multifamily or public pool, under Code of Ordinances § 74-102(2). No permit is issued until the required fee is paid.
