Skateboarding Rules

Boone County bans skateboards, along with bicycles, rollerblades and rollerskates, from the surfaced sports courts at its county parks under Code Section 96.04(B), reserving those courts for their intended sport. The rule covers only county-operated parks in unincorporated Boone County, not courts inside Florence, Union or Walton.

(B) Surfaced courts are to be used for their intended sports only. No bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, rollerskates, and the like, are permitted on the surfaced courts.

Public Alcohol Use

Boone County bans selling, possessing or consuming alcohol in county parks under Code Section 96.07 unless a licensed vendor holds a special event permit approved by the County Administrator. Even then, alcohol is allowed only at England-Idlewild, Boone Woods and Central Park, and only in designated event areas.
