Construction Hours

Clark County only exempts lawn mowers, garden tractors, construction equipment and power tools from its noise ordinance between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., and only if the equipment is properly muffled. Outside that window, construction noise audible 50 feet away is a violation.

Clark County Code of Ordinances § 90.04(B)(2)

The following are exempted from the provisions of this section: (1) Sounds emitted from authorized emergency vehicles; (2) Lawn mowers, garden tractors, construction equipment and power tools, when properly muffled, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. only;

Barking Dogs

Clark County Code of Ordinances § 91.40(F)

§ 91.40 NUISANCE. Each owner shall exercise proper care and control of his, her or its dog/cat or dogs/cats so as to prevent the following actions by it or them: ... (F) Habitual barking or loud and continued noise which causes serious annoyance or disturbance to the neighborhood; and (G) Unnecessary foul or noxious odors which offend people in the neighborhood.

Amplified Music & Outdoor Sound

Clark County bans running any sound-producing or sound-reproducing device, loudspeakers, radios, CD players, TVs, phonographs and musical instruments included, if it is clearly audible 50 feet or more away on public or private property. A local or state permit for a sound-amplifying device is a defense.

No person shall play, use or operate, or permit to be played, used or operated, any machine or device for the producing or reproducing of sound, including, but not limited to, loudspeakers, radios, CD players, television sets, musical instruments, phonographs, cassette players or any other machine designed or intended to produce or reproduce sound... if such machine, device or vehicle is locate...

Vehicle Noise

Operating a motor vehicle with a modified or defective exhaust system that is clearly audible 50 feet away, on a public road or on private property, violates Clark County's noise ordinance unless the defect is fixed within seven calendar days of the cause arising.
