Cleveland County records a standing notice in the register of deeds warning that land near a voluntary agricultural district can see pesticide spraying, manure spreading, livestock and machinery operations 'any time during the day or night,' under UDO section 12-361, and the county disclaims liability if a title search misses a tract's proximity to a district.

Agricultural Zoning Protection

Cleveland County protects farming through a voluntary agricultural district program under Article XVII of the Unified Development Ordinance. Landowners can enroll at least 50 contiguous acres of qualified farmland, or two or more 50-acre farms within a mile of each other, in a district run by the county's Agricultural Advisory Board under section 12-356.
