Davidson County's Fire Marshal treats a solar or photovoltaic power system as a permit-required construction item under the N.C. Fire Prevention Code. Chapter 98's Appendix C sets a flat $100 construction permit fee for Solar and Photovoltaic Power Systems, filed and reviewed through the same Central Permitting process as the county's other fire-code construction permits.
