Backyard fire pits for cooking are permitted in DeKalb County when using clean wood or logs in an outdoor fireplace, chimney, or fire bowl. Fires must be at least 25 feet from structures, between 10 AM and 10:30 PM, and attended by an adult with a charged water hose at all times. No burn bans may be in effect.
