Building Permits

Any structure covered by the North Carolina State Building Code needs a permit from the Gaston County Building Inspections Department before it can be built, added to, altered, moved, occupied, or torn down. Section 5.4 of the Unified Development Ordinance sets that requirement, which applies on top of, not instead of, the separate zoning permit.
