Historic-Cultural Monuments
Hawaii County protects historic properties and cultural sites through the Hawai'i County Cultural Resources Commission, created under County Code Article 44. The nine-member commission reviews nominations to the Hawai'i and National registers of historic places and provides design review for any project affecting a listed or eligible historic site.
