Historic-Cultural Monuments
Honolulu's parks director can designate cultural sites inside Oahu's public parks under ROH § 10-6.2. Anyone may propose a site, and once the director approves, the Department of Parks and Recreation installs an explanatory marker at the sponsor's expense.

Any interested person may recommend the designation of a cultural site to the director for approval. ...
