Flood Elevation

Jefferson County requires subdivision plats submitted for flood-prone land in the unincorporated county to be filled at least 2 feet above the 100-year flood elevation before the Director of Roads and Transportation/County Engineer will approve them. Fill cannot intrude into the 100-year floodway, and no structure may go there, under Subdivision and Construction Regulations Section 10.20(b)(5).
