In Fort Collins, RVs, boats and trailers may not be parked or stored on residential streets except for loading or unloading, and only for less than 48 hours. In unincorporated Larimer County, store RVs on your own lot, not in the right-of-way.
Fort Collins Traffic Code Section 1214(1), (1)(b)
No motor vehicle exceeding twenty (20) feet in length, or any trailer coach, recreational vehicle, mobile home, trailer, semi-trailer or truck tractor... shall be parked or stored upon the street adjacent to any lot zoned [residential]... except... recreational vehicles or trailers when parked for less than a forty-eight-hour period for the purposes of loading and unloading.
In unincorporated Larimer County urban districts and growth management areas, single-family and duplex driveways must be paved from the road edge to the right-of-way line. Off-street parking must not require backing into the road, and vehicles should not block sidewalks or the right-of-way.
Larimer County Land Use Code Section 4.6.7 (Surfacing)
Single-family detached and duplex dwellings in the Urban districts and GMAs shall pave parking and loading access areas with asphalt, concrete, or similar material from the edge of the roadway to the right-of-way line.
Fort Collins prohibits parking commercial and oversized vehicles on public streets, alleys and rights-of-way, except while they are actively being loaded, unloaded, or used for utility or street work. Unincorporated county rules govern commercial parking through zoning and off-street standards.
Fort Collins Traffic Code Section 1214(1)(a)
Commercial vehicles, when such vehicles are being expeditiously loaded or unloaded, or equipment on such vehicles is being used to perform the special operations for which it was designed, including, but not limited to, the construction, operation, removal or repair of utility or public utility property or facilities or public streets and rights-of-way.
Ordinary cars may park on public streets, but Fort Collins prohibits parking large or oversized vehicles on any street, alley or right-of-way. Unincorporated Larimer County has no metered on-street program; rural road rights-of-way are not for storage.

Fort Collins has no blanket overnight ban on passenger cars, but RVs and trailers may sit in front of your own home for no more than 48 hours while loading or unloading. In unincorporated Larimer County, a vehicle left over 48 hours in the right-of-way can be deemed abandoned.

Motor coaches, trailer coaches, recreational vehicles or trailers when parked directly in front of the frontage of the single-family or multi-family dwelling of the vehicle's registered owner, not to exceed a period of 48 hours when being loaded or unloaded.
The Larimer County Land Use Code requires new parking areas in urban districts and growth management areas with more than 30 spaces to provide at least one dedicated electric vehicle space for every 30 spaces, EV-capable and signed for exclusive EV use.

Parking areas in the Urban districts and GMAs with more than 30 parking spaces shall provide a minimum of one parking space dedicated to electric vehicles for every 30 parking spaces provided on site.
Colorado law treats a vehicle left unattended on public property outside city limits for 48 hours or more as abandoned, allowing law enforcement to tag and tow it. In Fort Collins, the city applies its own abandoned vehicle definition and impound process.
Neither Larimer County nor Fort Collins lets residents paint the curb to reserve or restrict parking. Curb markings are official traffic-control devices installed only by the government; unauthorized curb painting is not recognized and can be treated as defacing public property.

Fort Collins bans parking oversized vehicles on public streets: anything over 6,000 pounds empty, over 20 feet long, over 8 feet wide, or any trailer, RV or semi. In unincorporated Larimer County, oversized vehicles belong on the private lot, not the road right-of-way.
