The Larimer County Land Use Code requires new parking areas in urban districts and growth management areas with more than 30 spaces to provide at least one dedicated electric vehicle space for every 30 spaces, EV-capable and signed for exclusive EV use.
Under the Larimer County Land Use Code off-street parking standards, parking areas in the Urban districts and Growth Management Areas with more than 30 parking spaces must provide a minimum of one parking space dedicated to electric vehicles for every 30 spaces on site. Those spaces must be EV-capable, meaning conduit or capacity is run for future charging, located on the same lot as the principal use, and signed clearly for exclusive EV availability once in service. The requirement applies to new development and redevelopment during land use review; it is a development standard, not a rule for existing single-family homes, where owners may install charging on their own property.
Failure to provide required EV-capable spaces is corrected during Larimer County land use review and site plan approval before a certificate is issued.
