In unincorporated Marin County, County Code Section 13.24.020 requires every bicycle, electric bicycle, and motorized bicycle rider to follow every California Vehicle Code rule for bicycles, including staying in marked bike lanes and yielding right-of-way. Section 13.24.030 separately bars sidewalk riding in zoned business districts and for anyone fourteen or older anywhere in the county, unless the Board of Supervisors has posted an exemption.
