McLean County prohibits open fires in Comlara Park, West Park and every other county park or recreational area. Cooking is allowed only in camp grills the county provides or in charcoal or metal grills visitors bring that a site manager or ranger approves, per Code of Ordinances § 282-3F.

Fires. No person shall build a fire in a County park or recreational area except in camp grills provided by the McLean County Board or in charcoal or other types of metal grills which are furnished by the visitor and approved by the site manager or ranger. The McLean County Board may limit the use of metal grills in any area when there is an unusually high risk of fire.
