E-Bike Classes
Monterey County Code does not split electric bicycles into Class 1, 2 or 3 for park purposes: § 14.12.060 treats every 'electric bicycle' as defined by California Vehicle Code § 312.5 the same way it treats a regular bicycle. Riders may only use trails authorized for bicycle use, must yield to pedestrians and equestrians, cannot pass at more than 5 mph, and must wear a certified helmet on any dirt trail.
