Unincorporated Pope County bans letting any dog run at large without a tag under Pope County Code § 700.00(2). A vicious or nuisance dog cannot leave its owner's property at all unless muzzled and restrained on a leash with at least 300 pounds of tensile strength and no more than three feet long. Any other dog can roam county common areas only if it wears a tag listing the owner's name, phone number and address.
