Flood Zones

Pope County adopted its Flood Damage Prevention Code under § 285.00, using authority the state gives counties in A.C.A. §§ 14-268-101 et seq. The Ordinance applies to every Special Flood Hazard Area FEMA has mapped for Pope County under the July 21, 2017 Flood Insurance Study and March 21, 2019 Flood Insurance Rate Map. The county's Floodplain Administrator enforces it; a violation is a misdemeanor punishable by up to $500 per day, per violation, plus court costs.
