Vanderburgh County requires a building permit before any residential swimming pool is installed, under the general permit rule at County Code Section 15.08.030(A). The joint department of building commissioners charges $30 for pools 24 feet in diameter or smaller, $50 for larger residential pools, and $150 for commercial pools under Section 15.08.080(M).
