Flood Elevation
In unincorporated Walker County flood hazard areas, Sec. 22-361 requires new homes and substantially improved houses to have their lowest floor, including any basement, built at least 1 foot above the base flood elevation. Manufactured homes must also be anchored to resist flotation on top of the elevation rule.
