Winnebago County requires every structure in the unincorporated county to be kept free of insect and rodent infestation, and mandates that any infestation found be exterminated by a licensed pest control operator. The Winnebago County Health Department enforces the rule as part of its adopted International Property Maintenance Code, with fines up to $500.00 per day for violations that go uncorrected.
