The Village of Schaumburg enforces a juvenile curfew under its Village Code. Minors under 17 years of age must not be on public streets, sidewalks, parks, or other public places during curfew hours. On Sunday through Thursday nights (school nights), curfew is 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM. On Friday and Saturday nights, curfew is 12:00 AM (midnight) to 6:00 AM. Exceptions include minors accompanied by a parent or guardian, traveling directly to or from work with employer documentation, responding to emergencies, attending organized school, church, or civic activities, and exercising First Amendment rights. Parents or guardians who knowingly permit curfew violations may also be cited. Schaumburg Police Department enforces the curfew through routine patrol, particularly in commercial areas around Woodfield Mall and entertainment venues.
