Skokie, IL Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Violation. It is unlawful for a person less than 17 years of age to be present, at or upon, any public assembly, building, place, street or highway within the corporate limits of the Village of Skokie, at the following times unless one of the exceptions listed in subsection (b) applies, at the following times:

(1) Between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

(2) Between 12:01 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday.

(3) Between 11:01 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, inclusive, and 6:00 a.m. on the following day.

(b) Exceptions. This subsection (a) shall not apply to any person less than 17 years of age who is:

(1) Accompanied and supervised by a parent, legal guardian, or other responsible companion at least 21 years of age, if said adult's supervision was expressly approved by the youth's parent or legal guardian;

(2) Engaged in employment, or going to or from a place of employment, which the laws of this state authorize a person less than 17 years of age to perform;

(3) Engaged in the exercise of First Amendment rights as guaranteed by the United States Constitution while attending, or traveling to or from, an official school, religious, or other civic or recreational event or activity which is supervised by adults and sponsored by an entity that takes responsibility for the supervision of the youth. The purpose or nature of the event or activity must be of the type which could not be reasonably held or conducted during non-curfew hours;

(4) Involved in an emergency involving the protectio
