Blue Earth County, MN Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Sec. 12-16 governs when the public may be inside a Blue Earth County park. Subsection (a) lets the board of commissioners grant a permit for temporary, exclusive use of a reserved space, and subsection (b) states county parks are open each day during the season, subject to two curfews. Subsection (b)(1) bars anyone from remaining within Williams Nature Center, Schimek Park, or Wildwood Park between sunset and sunrise. Subsection (b)(2) bars anyone from remaining within any other county park between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., with a single exception for registered campers staying in a designated camping area, consistent with the overnight-quiet provision in Sec.

12-6(c)(3) that reserves 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. for camping-area solitude. Under subsection (c), any permit issued for park use, whether for camping, a reserved space, or a licensed activity, can be revoked if the permittee violates any board rule, other local ordinance, or state statute. Subsection (d) makes it unlawful to use a fee-based facility or area without paying the established charge, and subsection (f) lets the board, the public works director, or an authorized representative close all or part of any park at any time they find reasonably necessary.

Enforcement runs through Sec. 12-18: county sheriff's deputies and designated park employees may eject a violator from the park and the county treats a violation of the chapter as a misdemeanor.
