Carver County, MN Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Carver County sets park hours by Board action rather than fixing a single countywide closing time. 04(A)(1) states county parks are open at hours established by the Board and makes it unlawful to enter or remain in a park at any other time without a use permit, unless the Board has designated that particular area open to the public. 06(H), "Unlawful occupancy," backs this up by separately banning entering any building, installation, or area that is under construction, locked, or closed, or being present after the posted closing time or before the posted opening time, or contrary to posted notice in any park.

Actual opening and closing hours are posted at each park rather than written into the ordinance text, so a visitor has to check the signage or the county's park hours listing for a park like Lake Minnewashta Regional Park or Baylor Regional Park before assuming access. 04(A)(2) to close any park, or part of one, at any time for the protection of park property or for the public health, safety, or welfare, for example during flooding, storm cleanup, or scheduled maintenance. 04(B) can authorize presence in a park outside posted hours, such as for a sunrise event or overnight program, when the Board or Director approves it in advance.
