Delaware County parks are open to the public only from dawn to dusk (exception by permit only). No one may remain in a county park after hours unless authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department. Violations are summary offenses fined up to $300.
Delaware County Ordinance No. 2023-2 (Chapter 141 of the County Code) sets the hours for all county parks, including Rose Tree, Smedley, Glen Providence, and Upland. Section 141-1 provides that all parks are open dawn to dusk, that a park may be closed at the Park Director's discretion for weather or hazards, and that no person may remain after hours without authorization. Vehicles may not be parked on park property after sunset except where designated. This is the genuine countywide curfew rule; note that municipal parks and any teen/juvenile curfews are set separately by each borough or township, not the county.
Under 16 P.S. Β§2510(b), violations of the park rules are summary offenses punishable by a fine of up to $300, plus prosecution costs; Park Police enforce.
