Bergen County, NJ Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Article VI of the Bergen County Parks System Rules and Regulations puts every county park on a sunrise-to-sunset operating schedule: parks open 30 minutes after sunrise and close 30 minutes before sunset unless otherwise posted. Several facilities run on their own separate schedules layered on top of that baseline. The Bergen County Zoological Park operates daily from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM with last entry at 3:00 PM. The James A. McFaul Environmental Center runs 8:00 AM to 6:45 PM on weekdays and 8:30 AM to 6:45 PM on weekends and holidays, while its museum keeps shorter hours (8:30 AM to 4:45 PM weekdays, 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM weekends) and is closed entirely on holidays.

The Golf Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The rule expressly gives posted signage the final word: hours may be altered on a temporary or permanent basis, and whatever is posted for a given park, activity, or section controls over the general schedule printed in the rules. Visitors are directed to check posted hours at any County facility before visiting rather than assume the baseline sunrise-to-sunset window applies. Presence in a county park outside its lawful open hours, whether the general schedule or a posted variance, is what the curfew provision restricts, and it applies uniformly across the county park system rather than by municipality.
