Englewood prohibits any person from being in City parks between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. except for authorized City staff, lawful workers, and permitted recreation programs approved by the Recreation Director.
Under the Parks and Recreation Areas chapter, it is unlawful for any person to be, remain, loiter, idle, wander, stroll, or play in or upon any City park between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. of the following day. Exceptions cover City officers and authorized agents on duty, persons in lawful employment requiring presence in the park, and people participating in an organized program or meeting authorized by a written permit from the Director of the City Recreation Department. For Garrity Field and Mackay Park, permits during the baseball and softball season run April 9 through June 4.
Common violations include being in City parks after 9:00 p.m. without a permit, remaining after closing during the night-time hours, or hosting unauthorized gatherings on park property after dark.
