Howard County, MD Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Howard County Code Section 19.204 provides that park property is open to the public every day from sunrise to sunset, with exceptions when the Director closes a park for public safety, maintenance, construction, or a special event, or when activities are permitted under Section 19.205. A person shall not be on park property between sunset and sunrise except law enforcement personnel and department personnel performing their duties, individuals they authorize or accompany, or persons authorized by permit under Section 19.205. The Department of Recreation and Parks also enforces a total ban on smoking and tobacco products in all county-owned parks, prohibits glass containers, and requires dogs to be leashed and under control.
