Orangeburg County, SC Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 28-3 governs the county's Indian Bluff Recreation Area on Lake Marion, and subsection (a) closes "no portion of the Indian Bluff Recreation Area" between sunset and sunrise, carving out only the boat ramp, the dock and the boat ramp parking area, which remain open for anglers and boaters coming and going outside daylight hours. Subsection (b) layers on thirteen additional restrictions that reinforce the closure: no overnight camping, no open fires outside county-provided grills, no possession or consumption of alcohol or unprescribed drugs, no littering, vandalism or disorderly conduct, no swimming or diving around the piers or docks, no fishing from the boat ramp or dock, parking only in designated spaces, a 15 mile-per-hour speed limit, no loud broadcasts or recorded music, no firearms, ammunition or fireworks, no boats within 50 feet of the fishing pier, and no wheeled vehicles other than wheelchairs or strollers on the piers or docks.

Only vehicles transporting boats may use the boat ramp parking area. The provision traces to Code 1983, § 11-70, and applies specifically to this county park rather than to parks generally; the county's separate boat landing rules in section 28-4, adopted by Ord. No. 00 fine and up to 30 days in jail for a violation. 00, imprisonment not exceeding 30 days, or both, with each day of a continuing violation counted as a separate offense.
