Pottstown, PA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 102 of Chapter 16, Parks and Recreation, lists the rules that apply to all Borough parks unless a specific park's own regulations under § 105 say otherwise. Subsection E, Times and Hours of Use, sets the curfew: no person may be on park property between sunset and sunrise, with sunset and sunrise fixed as designated by National Weather Service resources, unless the person has written permission. The curfew sits alongside a long list of companion park rules in the same section: alcohol is barred without Borough Council authorization, motor vehicles and self-propelled vehicles including bicycles, mopeds and skateboards are confined to designated parking areas and driveways, swimming in the Manatawny Creek or Schuylkill River is prohibited, camping or sleeping in a park requires written permission from the Parks and Recreation Department, and metal detecting is banned outright.

The Borough's parks include limited-access, limited-purpose and tot-lot classifications established under § 101, all of which fall under the same § 102 curfew. Enforcement is not tied to a single named agency in this Part, but violations are prosecuted as summary offenses. The Borough's own civil penalty attachment schedule sets a separate civil track for some park infractions, distinct from the criminal fine printed in § 106 itself.
