Rockdale County, GA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Rockdale County Code § 70-2 sets the operating hours for every public park and recreational area owned or leased by the county at sunrise until sundown, though the director of the department of general services can adjust hours for a specific facility. No person may remain in or upon the grounds of a public park or recreation area during hours when it is closed, and overnight camping is banned outright at every park. These hours-of-operation rules sit alongside a long list of other park regulations in the same section, covering motor vehicles restricted to designated roads and lots, litter disposal, a ban on open fires except in county-provided grills or fire rings, a ban on discharging firearms or explosives (including fireworks) without written permission from the general services director, and special boating and swimming restrictions at the Randy Poynter Lake/Black Shoals Reservoir.

Anyone convicted of violating any part of § 70-2, including the closed-hours rule, is denied any park permit or other permission to use county park facilities for 60 days following the conviction, on top of whatever fine or jail time the Magistrate Court imposes.
