Under the Pierce County Park Code (Chapter 14.08), gated parks follow posted hours and, in other areas, no person may be present or park a vehicle more than one-half hour after legal sunset without a permit.
Pierce County Parks operate under Chapter 14.08 of the Pierce County Code. In parks and on trails controlled by gates, normal park hours are as posted, and no person may remain after posted hours except for prearranged special group activities or authorized concessions. In other areas, no person may be present and no vehicle may remain parked more than one-half hour after legal sunset without a permit. Many Pierce County parks, such as Chambers Creek Regional Park, open one-half hour before sunrise and close one-half hour after sunset. The Parks Director or designee may issue a permit for park use during closed hours, and Park Code violations can result in ejection from the park system.
Remaining in a park after posted hours or more than one-half hour past legal sunset without a permit can result in immediate ejection from the park system and a Park Code civil infraction.
