County parks, public boat ramps and other Osceola County recreational areas are open only during hours set by the county manager. Being on the premises outside those posted hours is prohibited, and overnight camping is banned except where a permit is issued or a designated camping area exists.
Osceola County Code of Ordinances Sec. 16-28 provides that hours of operation for all county parks, boat ramps and recreational facilities are established by the county manager or designee, and that no person may be on the premises outside the established hours (or for any purpose contrary to the intended uses). Sec. 16-35 prohibits overnight camping of any type β including trailers, campers and tents β except by permit from the Board of County Commissioners or in a designated camping area. Watercraft may not be secured to a public boat ramp for more than 15 minutes. Posted hours vary by park, so check signage on site.
Violations are heard by the Code Enforcement Board and punished as provided in Chapter 7; the county may also pursue injunctive or other civil remedies.
